•locks (with key or combo code)

OTHER
•Knapsacks / backpacks are extremely useful & easy to pack among bikes
•Canadian Tire money helps purchase supplies, new spare parts and tools
•Cash donations to help fund the transportation costs of the bikes
Typically the bikes are delivered to rural communities in Africa where paved roads are limited. As such, our preference is for bikes with wide tires (mountain and hybrid bikes). For more information please see “What we do not accept” section below.
•Adult sized MOUNTAIN bikes (24” and 26” wheels with frames sizes of 15” and up) in working condition, with no major rust on the frame (flat tires are ok). Hybrid bikes with wide tires are also suitable.

What we DO NOT collect
•No bikes other than adult mountain / hybrid bikes - this is very specific to the 2010 campaign. We may be able to accept other bikes in the future depending on the destination community’s needs
•No road bikes, ten-speeds, tricycles, old-style
•No specialty bikes: tricycles, tandems, etc
•No children’s bikes
•No frames without wheels - complete bikes only
•No bikes with major rust on the frame
•No old broken/worn tools and imperial sized spanners/wrenches
•No child carriers of any type (space constraint)
•No baskets (space constraint and more appropriate baskets are locally made and purchased at destination)
•No helmets
